Pros

There seems to be plenty of work for my area and can choose when and how often I would like to take assignments.

Cons

-The pay rate I am receiving currently is well under what I would expect someone who is required to have college credits/degree to be making and pay was never discussed with me before I signed up. -Sometimes they offer me positions that have nothing to do with teaching children such as Custodial work, which is not why I paid almost $200.00 of my hard earned money to become a substitute teacher and is almost insulting more than anything else.

The only good thing is working the days you specify.

Cons

They want a degree but won't pay a competitive hourly wage. If the school system did the hiring, at least you would get credit toward your student loans for the hours you put in at low wages. The government will give you a break on your student loans working in education, but only if you are hired by the city or state. Source 4 Teachers is a third party for profit that disqualifies those with student loans from getting the break.

I find that some of the schools will Post a job and I accept it but when I show up they tell me that they already hired someone full time and I was on an assignment for 2 months and then a school admin approached me and said they weren't sure if my assignment ever existed
