“Easiest” interview/hiring process; if you had a degree you were hired. No prior experience was needed. After spending time at the schools, I can see why this company was desperate.

Cons

One 8 hour online training session, which offered hardly any preparation for what you’d actually experience; one of their HR employees had the gumption to send me an email telling me how to do my job after I spent almost several years full time in the schools, and they never spent a day inside a classroom.

Choose when and where you work (school, teacher, grad level) Great for starting off in education Helpful and friendly staff all across the board I personally enjoyed the training we did Receive benefits after a year

Cons

Having to hop school to school if your regular school isn’t available At times teachers will leave terrible lesson plans so you’ll have to wing it More paraprofessional substituting jobs than actual teaching substitute jobs

Being able to work for the districts and schools I choose.

Cons

I got told I would get weekly pay, and my second check comes around and I got told I would be getting biweekly pay. Even though everything on the ESS Website says weekly pay. I am definitely upset about that. There are little to no training available. You pretty much just get thrown in to subbing blindly.

Weekly pay is offered in the vast majority of the districts we serve but there are a few areas that have not yet been converted. We're working on it! As for training, we offer upfront training, ongoing professional development modules, comprehensive training guides, and more.
