Pros

The mission and many of the staff

Cons

It has all the baggage of a toxic law firm environment without the pay. The “commitment” to diversity is pretty much just for show. When it comes down to it, the organization allows junior staff, especially POC, to be treated poorly and overworked. That was my experience, and I have heard the same from dozens of others. I would recommend that you look for a job elsewhere.

Earthjustice has fun and caring people on staff, works for healthy communities and to protect the planet, is dedicated to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and offers competitive salaries and benfits for the non-profit sector. What else could one ask for.

Cons

Given the state of climate change and the politics of today's world, the work can be emotionally taxing. But it's worth it to know you are helping do your part.
