Pros

Fun, intelligent, and mission-oriented people, great benefits, willingness to get into the real messy work of DEI at all levels of org, crucial mission

Cons

rapid growth has strained some infrastructure and exacerbated challenges with transparent and consistent information flow; inclusiveness can vary widely depending on office location, middle management, etc. There have been significant improvements over the years, still work to do. Efforts at intersectional DEI work still fairly nascent.

Pros

Earthjustice cares about its employees and the mission driven employees care about each other. An excellent place to practice public interest law.

Cons

Different culture per office, some offices work long hours. The managing attorney in each regional office seems to set the pace.

Pros

The mission and many of the staff

Cons

It has all the baggage of a toxic law firm environment without the pay. The “commitment” to diversity is pretty much just for show. When it comes down to it, the organization allows junior staff, especially POC, to be treated poorly and overworked. That was my experience, and I have heard the same from dozens of others. I would recommend that you look for a job elsewhere.
