Pros

Passionate, smart people, really effective and impactful program work, important leader in the sector, inspiring mission, *excellent* benefits. We're growing in new and exciting ways so there's lots of opportunities for creative problem solving.

Cons

Organization is still figuring out how to be this size and growing, some growing pains as a result as our systems can lag behind our capacity to support the growth. As well-meaning a culture as we have with lots of amazing people, it's still very hierarchical. Hierarchy isn't a bad thing, but it's not as useful for efficient work patterns when you take advantage of it while pretending it isn't there.

Pros

-The mission. -Holistic hiring process that takes cultural competency and emotional intelligence into account as well as functional skill. -Sincere and sustained diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in both policy and outreach. -Internal culture of publicly celebrating wins for all employees. That includes organization-wide emails when a team of attorneys successfully prevents the current administration from rolling back an important environmental protection, but also the same level of excitement for an administrative professional receiving a well-deserved promotion. -Fantastic benefits -Surprisingly competitive compensation -Plenty of support for professional development

Cons

-Like many Big Greens, we still have a long way to go in our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, but the effort is there. -The org is growing rapidly, so change management is something that will have to be thoughtfully planned, and well executed -Some managers still have a small organization mindset even though the organization is in a period of massive growth
