Pros

All supplies were given PD if needed catered lunches

Cons

Working here was frustrating because of how rigid they were on things.HR was unprofessional and very disorganized as well. It seems like they attract new teachers who just do not know any better. If you are a new teacher and licensed please don't work here, go to DOE- better benefits and a union.

Thank you for your feedback about your experience at our EHTP. We value the input of our current and former employees and are committed to continuous improvement. Regarding our HR team, we recognize the importance of effective processes. While they work diligently, we take responsibility for any challenges that may arise due to resource limitations. We are actively working on enhancing communication and operational efficiency. We believe in providing opportunities for educators at all career stages, including new teachers. Our goal is to foster a collaborative environment where teachers learn from one another. To better support new teachers, we are enhancing our training programs for a successful school year. Furthermore, we prioritize providing competitive benefits to our teachers compared to public schools. We understand the significance of attracting and retaining talented educators. Thus, we regularly review and improve our benefits package to meet their needs. We appreciate your contributions and commitment to positive change. Thank you for your feedback as we strive to create an even better work environment. Sincerely, East Harlem Tutorial Program

Pros

Co-workers bonded over shared negative experience

Cons

This place lures people in with its mission and its salary but does not deliver on its promises. This school is unsafe to work for, its supervisors are unfit and inexperienced, and myself as well as colleagues were humiliated and chastised for asking questions about an incident of a weapon being brought to school.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience. We genuinely appreciate your input, and we take your concerns very seriously. In addition to addressing the issues mentioned earlier, we want to emphasize that honoring the humanity of our students and maintaining a non-punitive approach is paramount to us. We firmly believe in creating an environment where every student feels respected, valued, and supported on their educational journey. Our commitment to the well-being of our students and staff extends beyond addressing incidents involving weapons or potential threats. We strive to foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that encourages open communication, empathy, and understanding. Instead of relying solely on punitive measures, we are dedicated to implementing positive disciplinary practices that focus on personal growth, learning from mistakes, and encouraging accountability. We want every individual within our community to feel valued and heard. Feedback reinforces our dedication to these principles, and we are actively working to ensure that our organization consistently upholds these values. Once again, thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Your valuable contribution to our ongoing efforts helps us in continuously improving and creating a safe, fulfilling, and compassionate work environment for all. Pros

provide food and good benefits

Cons

I strongly recommend not working here. They do not care about students or employees, please do not be fooled by what they tell you their values are because they have no intention of fulfilling their mission. Extremely unorganized, no communication, no support, etc.
