Pros

I really didn't know what to expect when I joined Eastman. From the first day, I was totally amazed by how close everyone seemed to be. All my co-workers were truly friends both at work and outside of work. I had been involved in the Pharmaceutical Industry for almost 20 years before coming to Eastman 8 years ago, and I just assumed internally rivalry and a stressful work environment was the norm for any large company. I have never experienced any of that since I've been here. Everyone speaks when you meet them in the hallways or in the parking lot. Even people you don't even know! Salary and benefits are competitive with other large companies, and every day is a new experience. I can honestly say I have never dreaded going to work one single day while being an employee at Eastman.

Cons

There really aren't any. I probably work harder here than any place I have been employed previously, but that's a choice I and almost all the people I know here have made.

Pros

Challenging work environment with a commitment to growth in individuals and the business. Have achieved year over year increase in earning for past 3 years and working toward this for 2013. Employees are rewarded for meeting and exceeding annual goals. Safety at work is a priority for all employees and this mindset spills over to our lives outside of the work environment. Short, easy commutes to work with little traffic.

Cons

Small regional airport and rural communities -- personally I like this but those who are looking for a metropolitan area would see this as a Con. Shopping in the Tri-Cities area will not offer the variety available in a larger or metropolitan area.

Pros

Eastman cares about its employees & the local community. Upper management very approachable. Will not hire folks strictly on the basis of their expertise, they must also have people skills. If someone is put into a position of managing people and they aren't good at it, they will move them out of that position & find something more suitable for them. Team members are heard and don't have to endure supervisors who are not good managers of people. If an effort is shelved, they try really hard to find positions for folks that are displaced.

Cons

Movements within the company seem to be kept secret even from the folks moving into new positions, sometimes until a few minutes before it is announced which seems rather odd to me.
