Pros

The company has an incredible culture. I have created so many valuable relationships here at Echo that will last a life-time. It is a perfect job as the first job right out of college. It is fun, everyone is outgoing, but at the same time they take the job very seriously. It is definitely a “Work hard-Play hard" environment. There is also a lot of room to grow as the company is expanding and growing non stop. If you are a hard worker, you will be rewarded with compensation, trips, gifts... The company has an open door policy, and when I say that they do, they really truly do. No matter what level you are at, you will be heard.

Cons

The company is great, but the industry of logistics is rough. It is definitely not for someone of a sensitive personality. The industry can either break you or make you stronger. Partially, that is the reason why the company invests into people so much, so the pain of the industry wouldn’t overwhelm people too much. The initial compensation is not very high, but as I said before, if you work hard you will be compensated.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It is great to hear the excitement and motivation you share. The Logistics industry can certainly be tough some days, and it is not for everyone, but we continually work to give our employees the tools they need to be successful at their jobs and to help balance the hard work with a great environment. Thank you for your advice and we’re happy you are a part of Echo!

Pros

I've been at Echo for a little over 6 months, and am currently part of the massive integration with Command Transportation. This has provided me with an invaluable experience in which I have been able to work on a variety of projects. I was easily able to insert myself into the role and have nothing but great things to say about my superiors and co-workers. Some of my favorite perks include working downtown (right off brown/purple -Chicago stop), company sponsored events (softball & cubs rooftops were amazing), they also have holiday and summer parties where you can get together and meet people from all different departments. Did I mention beer fridays?? Great way to ease the pain of a difficult work week Opportunity Growth: I was very hesitant at first, but my manager and I have weekly sit downs that really help pin point where I am doing well and what I need to improve on . This gave me great insight into how I wanted to continue forward in my career

Cons

The elevators are actually quite humorous...but good thing they just announced they're expanding to the second floor as well! Lunch options are slightly limited, but there are tons of order ins and great restaurants nearby to take potential clients or even go out with co-workers for a few drinks. Just a note: Make sure you you like who you are going to work with, if you don't click well with someone or constantly ask the right questions you could end up not being happy. Work shouldn't be miserable.

Pros

Young co-workers- that is about it

Cons

SUCH A DEPRESSING JOB. As an account executive, you are literally just calling truckers all day and scheduling shipments. If you have an education, are SMART, or want to use your actual brain at work, DO NOT WORK HERE. This job should be for high school drop outs. It's basically a call/ customer service center. No appreciation at all for employees. Overall, the most depressing place I have ever been.

Thanks for writing a review, we really appreciate the feedback. Rewards and recognition is actually something we are working really hard to improve, particularly for those in the Account Executive role. AEs have one of the most important positions in our company, working directly with our valued clients on a daily basis, and we aim to help them feel more connected to their teams and understand how their work makes a difference by training managers on providing quality, consistent recognition. We’d love to hear any insights or feedback you have as we continue to redefine and restructure initiatives for this role. Drop by HR or reach out to Karyn directly.
