Pros

Opportuntiy, challlenging, learning, good people work there in a nice atmosphere.

Cons

Some of the downsides are that the training is not good at all. They need to have professional trainers. We don't get to go off site to see how other departments work.

Pros

One of the best reasons to work for EchoStar is that it provides a totally unique career experience. There are not many jobs in the IT industry that do what we do. Everyone is very easy to work with; a very professional atmosphere. There are several locations around the US.

Cons

A major downside to working at EchoStar at the current time is the benefits. Pay is low and Health Care is not much to be desired. They have mentioned that they plan on doing something about it soon. Sometimes the smaller sites get overlooked a bit so watch out. Most of the attention and training goes to the 2 larger uplinks while the smaller ones get left out.

Pros

For the minimum requirements set forth for initial employment the money to be made is amazing. Starting even as a base technician allows for huge sums of money to be had as long as you are willing to put the hours in. The ease for advancement is there as long as you stay on top of your accomplishments.

Cons

The benefits are completely atrocious. The vision and dental are not too bad but the medical would make you think twice about calling an ambulance even if you were bleeding out after falling into a bucket of knives. If you have a spouse, use their medical plan.
