Pros

I give it 3 stars just because of the many kids i had the privilege to meet. The insurance was GREAT!

Cons

staying on property throughout 4/5/6 day shifts, having being stuck with kids acting up and no one coming to help. Most times it was 2 counselors per 12 kids and sometimes you co-counselor left you by yourself. Though being stressful just knowing that you made an impact on a couple kids was worth it. If you can work here you can work anywhere, seriously!

The mission is good, and the people that actually work with the kids are wonderful.

Cons

Top management and the CEO are all training to be accountants. They only care about how many pennies they can save so they can tell the board of directors "look! We cut some more positions!"

Helping people is rewarding, especially children and teens. They try to make the atmosphere as fun as possible. It is okay.

Cons

Lots of hours. Generally start work at 9:30am & get off between 5:30 & 7:00. They don't take a lunch, we are authorized a lunch however none of the people in my department take a lunch at all. There is off hours on-call rotation where are you take home the cell phone and computer overnight. rotating weekends They don't pay overtime
