BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

Pros

I have nothing positive to say about this company. There are some good people who work there. Unfortunately I had little contact with them.

Cons

From the very beginning, nothing but negativity could be felt throughout the work environment. The tension was palpable since the beginning. During the interview process, they will portray a caring image . I went through an extensive interview process that included two rounds of talking to roughly sixteen different people. I relocated from Chicago to take a position in May 2015. It was a nightmarish relocation process. I have relocated twice in the past and I have never had less support from a company. I ended up finally signing a lease in July. I moved in and was relieved to be getting my family comfortable and set up again. I was then fired in September. The only reason that was given was that it wasn’t a good fit. No onboarding, no review process, not training. Just a manager who felt it was an inconvenience to train or provide support. They up-rooted me and my family halfway across the county only to fire me four months later. No severance pay was offered. Just collect your things and go. This company was the most unprofessional and unethical to its employees. This is the most cruel thing me and my family have ever had to endure. I can only hope this doesn’t occur to anyone else working with Edgewell.

Lots of talk, little action

Pros

Some good brands, some good colleagues

Cons

Absentee executive team in CT. C-suite executives have minimal to no interaction with staff and are essentially the old division management from when the company was part of Energizer. Lots of talk about being a "challenger" company but no follow through on shifting resources to drive growth. Stock price is down approximately 10-15% since the spin off of the battery group. Current approach seems to be profit delivery via risk avoidance versus growth lead profit delivery. IT systems are a mess and non-standardized so working collaboratively is a challenge. Cost cutting and lack of real investment hamstrings employee productivity. Finish the SAP project for all locations. Insure that help desk colleagues know the patchwork of systems and can effectively troubleshoot. Still a silo based environment and individuals can carve out fiefdoms so as to ignore corporate or brand strategy. Morale in HQ location is strange as people are just waiting to hear who is buying the organization. Plenty of parking free at 9:00am and the parking lot empties at 4:45 daily. Culture has deteriorated substantially in the last 4 years.
