Pros

Autonomy. No cap on how much you want to make in earnings. Team environment and support is there.

Cons

Amount and time span of having a salary needs to be adjusted. In certain market areas, it will take the new FA longer to generate a stable amount of gross commissions to survive. If you consider the attrition rate, money spent on training a new FA, providing a more stable salary would be beneficial to the company as a whole. Quarterly decreases in salary in this market is not the solution to lowering the attrition rate.

Pros

Edward Jones has a strong culture where associates really enjoy working. The partnership structure gives the firm additional flexibility compared to a corporation. Leaders put an absolute emphasis on doing what's right for clients.

Cons

The firm does not pay the majority of associates a market competitive salary. In most cases, there is a great disparity between the compensation of general partners and the associates.

Pros

Great Training, Good solid Company , Profit sharing, 401k . The information on line is good and easy to work with. Head office support is very good.

Cons

Good training and support up to going out to sell. Then the ball is dropped. I don't think the trainers in the Head Office are aware of the lack of support new Financial advisors have. Door knocking is ok but for people to take you seriously I think you need to be based in an office not your home . Absolutley no product training! I can't believe the amount of money that is wasted on training the new advisors then to let them fail. Far more support is need in the field to help retain the advisors
