Pros

Edward Jones has put me in the best possible position to serve my clients. Everything about this company is in place to make the client experience better. We didn't win the JD Power Investor Satisfaction award 6 YEARS in a row by accident. Canadians love our brand of service and I am proud to work for a firm that cares about clients not shareholders.

Cons

It can be challenging to build a business. But we have the best training and New FA compensation on the street. This is not an easy industry to work in. But our opportunity is the best for anyone looking to build a business in this industry.

Pros

Edward Jones hired me, a biochemist, back in 2001. They trained me, offered me my own office and assistant, gave me the autonomy I had enjoyed as a scientist and have treated me with nothing but respect ever since. Times have changed in the Financial Services industry and Edward Jones has changed accordingly. The single focus is serving our clients, our approach is personal, relationship driven and rewarding to both my clients and to myself. I am well rewarded for my work and have few restrictions when it comes to how I run my business. As a veteran, I now understand our competitors and the differences between us and them. I have no interest in moving even though I have been offered several opportunities to do so. Edward Jones is a special place to work.

Cons

I really can't think of any.

Pros

I began my journey with Edward Jones 12 years ago just out of University. I wanted to belong to a firm that had no proprietary products and had good training. I was lucky enough to find a company that invests an incredible amount of resources in training new advisors. There is a reason that Edward Jones has been the number one ranked brokerage in Canada for the past 6 years by JD Power. The company invests money in their partners to train, and gives them industry leading technology and tools to serve our clients. I was able to set up a professional practice in my community, had training and mentorship to help me acquire clients, and the firm continued to invest in me every step of the way. Building my business at Edward Jones has afforded me the ability to take care of my family, keep a flexible schedule, and make a difference for the people and community I serve.

Cons

Working with a firm that manages over a trillion dollars and is the number one firm by advisor force in North America would normally suggest a company that has become to slow. Overall the structure of the company to divide the company into specific regions allows for fresh ideas and a community feel in every region. The size of the company means that we have established processes and procedures - that means that not everything can be implemented and change takes time. Overall, I think Edward Jones does a great job listening to clients and partners.
