Pros

Training is second to none for new FAs. The firm offers ample support for its new advisors. Personally, I loved working for a conservative firm -- didn't get caught up in risky investment vehicles like some of it's big name competition.

Cons

Knock, knock. Who's there? You got it, there's a whole heck of a lot of door knocking. It's most definitely not for everyone. Also, the beginning salary is small and short-lived!

Pros

flexible time. make your own schedule. know a lot of fa's living the dream!

Cons

takes a long time to make it. your fate could end very suddenly if you do not perform. a lot of uncertainty in the early years (till you make seg 3). If you do not make seg 3 by month 49 you are gone (no questions asked/ alot of time, effort, and money wasted). A bad BOA is near impossible to get rid of. A bad BOA can make your life terrible.
