      Sales.. wouldn’t recommend working here

      Pros

      The work from home environment. Good supportive teams. Ok benefits.

      Cons

      If you’re considering joining the sales team: -Very low pay for sales reps, lowest in the industry -High turnover with sales team. Poor work-life balance. Lacks diversity. -Territory mismanagement. You lose an account you sell within a calendar year. No renewal compensation for accounts you sell. -Sales leadership is weak and incompetent, they are basically admins for tracking high activity and KPI’s with no leadership skills only high-pressure micro management and toxic work environment -Sales leadership and Senior leadership is a Fraternity from Pluralsight which they ran into the ground. They are selling the dream of IPO coming. Very few sales reps hit their quota and almost none acquire OTE so no money to make here.

      I had hope but it doesn’t look good.

      Pros

      The people, depending on the department, there are some amazing managers and directors to work for. Great health benefits Unlimited time off

      Cons

      No 401k and promises over 2 years of going public. No firm road for career advancement in sales- senior management has been asked about this every single meeting and they danced around the question each time. Managers and senior sales team ask for feedback and suggestions but then immediately get defensive and will make you immediately regret saying anything. Vineet the CEO responded all to the entire sales org on a congratulatory email saying that the sale should not have been celebrated and that they had a lot of work to do on the account. This was on a shout out email celebrating a victory. Regardless of the sale- the response was so uncomfortable and uncalled for. Any discrepancies should have been addressed on a managers level- not sent to the entire sales organization. Vineet never addressed this nor apologized. This should say enough about the type of toxic atmosphere sales people are walking into.

      Pros

      People - Working at Egnyte means you are surrounded by smart, supportive, enthusiastic and fun co-workers. Setting - productive , decent office space, Tools - purposefully invest in the latest and greatest tools required to be successful in your jobs. Product / solution - especially relevant for remote work and productivity. Leadership - strong, personable and passionate leaders who communicate clearly and keep team focused and productive. Evolving - invested in building out a strong org. and solution. Pay - competitive pay. Prudent - gotta love a culture that's not excessive and holds people accountable.

      Cons

      Sales leadership -turn over in sales leadership can make it challenging Benefits - while health plan is ok, 401 k matching would be nice, and an expanded fitness benefit would be awesome and inspiring.
