Pros

Great team and manager. Fun projects and very diverse technologies you are exposed to. Lots of potential for building out a state of the network for the best games in the world. Pay is decent if you're in Austin.

Cons

No where to go from here. Not not many opportunities for promotion. Hiring is slow.

It could be such a great place to work... but it just isn't

Pros

The best reason for working at EA is that you work on GAMES! How cool is that? You earn major cool points when you tell your friends where you work and it is just a cool kind of job. A lot of the people at EA are extremely talented people who will go well out of their way to help you be successful.

Cons

Keep in mind I work in Austin, so it may be different in other parts of EA. 1) Politics stale and make everything more difficult. Things are frequently delayed for a simple political reason. 2) Management lacks a way to implement their visions 3) No one is empowered to do anything unless they are director. This results in no one willing to make a decision without talking to a VP or senior director. 4) Hiring practices makes it almost impossible to get team members in. 5) MORALE IS TERRIBLE! 6) Leadership in the IT world is non-existent.

Pros

Working in the game industry. Playing unreleased video games.

Cons

The pay was awful, and they mislead you into thinking that if you work hard, you'll advance to a really significant high-paying job. It just isn't true.
