Pros

All the hours you can work. (Whether you want them or not )

Cons

Lied to about per diem. The per diem will not cover lodging. They say you can get home but they are so short handed that works out to once a quarter if you are lucky and there is coverage. Pay is lower than the industry standard. Management will cuss you and berate you if you ask any questions about missing pay. Oh yeah, they will "accidentally" forget to enter hours or release your per diem. They have a secondary per diem option where they say they pay for lodging. If you take it you WILL be placed in the cheapest place they can find no matter how unsafe or disgusting. Often times up to an hour away from the job site and travel time is not paid. If they still feel that lodging costs are too high they will switch you to a $50 per day per diem for food AND lodging and tell you to figure it out. They say overtime is available, when they should say mandatory. Expect 70-80 hours on 7 day weeks for months at a time. They do NOT offer raises after 90 or even 120 days as promised. Turn over is extremely high. Abut 1 out of 10 hires makes 90 days. Career advancement does not exist. If you ask every manager will give you a reason why it is not under their scope of responsibility. Find a local company and work for them. This job is for single men who have no expenses to care for at home!!!!

Pros

Occasional traveling to other locations to assist with projects, good technical skills will be developed

Cons

When project work is slow, the company lays off their workers. HR never bothered to internally change my promotion and took weeks for my actual pay rate to reflect appropriately, which was only fixed after getting laid off. Worked as an intern for 8 months and then went full-time after my graduation. I was laid off after one month of being employed full-time after moving out of my home state for this job... I don't even understand why I was hired in the first place and my supervisor never bothered to even say goodbye to me or send me a message thanking me for working there. I traveled to help the CA office with a project and ran extensive testing for multiple projects and turned down other offers to come work here. Overtime is encouraged and work life balance does not seem to be valued. Communication was poor and I was gossiped about to my supervisor by senior engineers, which was extremely unprofessional and hurtful as a young engineer. Employees barely speak to each other during work. New engineers are pushed to do night-shift or risk taking a pay cut. Lab is dark and depressing. Do not recommend working here

Pros

Obtained varied experience that is translatable to many industries. There is no limit to the amount of overtime you can get with this employer.

Cons

Overtime is abundant, and you will be worked hard due to understaffing to save money. Management at my facility is not approachable and doesn't care about their employees. Management is only concerned with profits and EBITDA. No opportunities for advancement or pay increases. This is a stepping-stone employer; DO NOT STAY HERE FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME. Its not worth the stress!
