Pros

salary, job challenges, people, and the opportunities around the company

Cons

leaders above VP...I just don't know. Continuous re-gorgs and RIFs just kill moral and senior leaders either don't care or don't get it. toooo focused on stock value that they have forgotten the little people that turn the wheels.

Pros

Ability to learn more about healthcare through research and attending an annual industry conference

Cons

I was excited about strategically driving innovation in healthcare, but VP more focused on attending conferences, getting tagged in LinkedIn posts, and putting a lot of projects on dashboard reports than radically changing healthcare. Most of the work is making it seem like there's real work and impact. If senior leadership at Anthem would ask probing questions they'd be surprised. Work isn't evenly distributed. Two people leaders push down all the work to others and take credit, and no one knows what they do. On the team, a few people have a ton of work and others have nothing to do. VP has never managed people before, and the people she's appointed to manage the team are no better. People planning to leave after annual review and bonuses. No room for promotion or growth.

Pros

The only thing flexible was the ability to work from home 2 days a week, but from the sounds of it, that may soon be going away.

Cons

There have been several reorganizations so far this year, with doom and gloom predicted in terms of hiring and bonuses for the rest of the year. No stability whatsoever. The area I worked had 3 different VPs in 3 months ; constant leadership changes happen in IT. Those with tenure and length at the company hold on to any knowledge they have, in an attempt to keep their jobs. Lots of manual processes in place and innovative ideas or suggestions are ignored because "that's how it's always been done". Zero training, professional development or career paths provided, nor was it actively talked about.
