Pros

The job was remote and some people were competent at their jobs.

Cons

Most of the management are completely incompetent and there is a culture of stupidity. I don't say that to be flippant. You are expected to pretend to be confused about the simplest concepts. You are pressured to act confused, work slowly, need several meetings to have a simple document "walked through". Your work must be very basic and elementary and if it isn't , it will be attacked, especially if you are Black. The managers are the most incompetent stupid people I have ever encountered in my career and they are very threatened by anyone who can do the job. I saw team members pretending to me confused and incompetent to appease them. When they saw me doing good work and not playing dumb, some of them stepped up their work, only to be brow beaten by others. It was a pattern. It's a whole system of stupidity. I was under constant attack for being Black and qualified while the completely incompetent white male workers were praised for anything, and I mean anything they did, even if it was bad. The racism and incompetence in the training department is over the top. They can't keep staff for a reason.

Undeveloped leaders

Pros

Work from home is a pro.

Cons

The expectations I had of associates with leader titles had to be reset comparative to other organization I have worked with. They do not place a focus on leadership development. I would see new leaders struggle, and then saw their leader unequipped to coach them. It is systemic. Leaders are unable to tie their strategy to the tactical work that is performed, so the strategy only exists in powerpoint. This is true across all levels in the organization that I interact with. The leaders are not willing to fund the projects that need to take place in order to modernize and automate. Large initiatives are tied to unsupported desktop solutions, rather than to IT solutions. They are not Agile in the space that I am in. Efforts are managed using a fire drill/shotgun hybrid approach. I haven't seen this work effectively, but they keep trying.

Pros

It’s a job, but beyond that…

Cons

Worst HR function I’ve ever encountered! Slow, outdated, unstrategic, the list goes on. They have people in leadership roles that are equivalent to low-level specialists in other companies. This HR org is never going to allow the company to transform. They are too set in their ways and too afraid to let go and partner vs controlling by force and wielding power.
