Pros

ElevenLabs has one of the most advanced and rapidly evolving products in the AI voice space. The technology is genuinely impressive and the company moves fast to stay ahead of competitors. The team is full of smart, ambitious people who are deeply passionate about what they do, and the company has strong momentum in the market.

Cons

The work environment can be extremely demanding. Teams often feel significant pressure to deliver at all times, leading to very long hours and a constant sense of urgency. There’s an underlying fear of not doing enough or being seen as underperforming, which can create a stressful culture. Work-life balance is difficult to maintain, and job security can feel uncertain.

Thank you for the honest reflection. The pros - the technology, the team, the momentum - sit alongside the cons you raised, and both are a valid part of what your experience was here. Demanding pace, long hours, fear of underperforming, and uncertain job security are not the experience we want for anyone here. Feedback this specific from a former Recruiter is hard to read past. We would welcome the chance to talk through your time here directly, if you are open to it. We appreciate you taking the time to share this. ElevenLabs Talent Team

Pros

Great degree of ownership and flexibility, with very few barriers or red tape. I feel that I can solve really hard technical problems and have good links to the business and users to really see the impact my work is having. I'm given a great amount of flexibility with remote working and very few scheduled meetings It's very unique to be working in a company with a strong research component, both to see cutting edge releases but also to be able to work with tools/apis literally no on else in the world has

Cons

There is a high expectation to work hard and engineers will frequently work evenings/weekends. Nobody will force you to, but the culture is certainly there to do this, mainly as everyone really cares about what they're working on and want to see it succeed. As a startup there are clearly pieces of infrastructure that are still to be setup/built. This is great at times as I can work on things from first principles and really understand how they work, though there are also times I miss the efficiency of knowing a system is already in place with owners that I can just use, as you would see at a larger company

Thank you for the honesty - reviews like this are useful to receive. The ownership, remote flexibility, and the research component you named are specifics worth holding together. The high expectations on weekend work and the infrastructure gaps are real. We do not want to gloss over either, even paired with the pros that lead. If you would like to talk through any of this directly, we would welcome the conversation. Thank you for taking the time. ElevenLabs Talent Team

Pros

I feel genuinely lucky to work here. The team is made up of incredibly smart, driven people operating at a very high level. We work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment that’s intense but never chaotic, thanks to strong organisation and clear processes. There's a real commitment to transparency and continuous improvement: open Slack channels encourage learning in public and async workflows are embraced. Leadership consistently seeks fairness, especially when it comes to designing thoughtful, competitive compensation packages. It's a culture that pushes you to grow while being supported by truly world-class teammates. There's a tremendous amount of flexibility around working hours, which is incredibly valuable as a working parent.

Cons

There are the expected growing pains that come with rapid scaling and a lean team but leadership is aware and actively investing in the People & Talent team to support sustainable growth.

Thank you for sharing this in such depth. Your "I feel lucky to be here" headline from a working parent, alongside notes on comp fairness, flexibility around hours, and the open Slack and async culture, is the kind of review that gives us something to live up to. Your advice on keeping the bar high to protect zero-ego ownership is what we want to keep at top of mind. Thank you for the warm review. ElevenLabs Talent Team
