Pros

I started as a temp 9 years ago and have moved through several roles in 3 different departments. There are always opportunities to shadow other areas, join committees and work with new people, and our general expansion is rapidly creating more positions.

Cons

As a west-sider, the commute to/from Bushnell's Basin can get tiresome- we have offices in Buffalo, Binghamton, and downtown, but unfortunately the HQ is not more centrally located (for me!)

Pros

The company is a smaller company with a big heart and a great family feel. The employees all feel they are part of an amazing work community. From the community point - YourCare employees get to be involved with fund raisers and community action groups. From an Employee point- The teamwork at YourCare is really amazing. Everyone works together to find out of the box solutions. I truly feel blessed to have found a company and an employer who cares about their employees, their families and their community!

Cons

Smaller company so little advancement opportunities.

Pros

Every person comes to work with a smile on their face. The company takes time to make sure each individual employee is happy and content with their work. The HR staff is amazing, the SHAPE program is really unique- just the other day they came around with stress balls for each employee with a flyer about how to reduce stress. Management is very fair, although you have some complainers here and there, those who have worked in other insurance companies know that this company values their employees and is grateful to work here. Perks include a gym on premises, great vacation packages, constant support from all departments, and open communication with HR. Also, the CEO is very down to earth, and knowledgeable. Other managed care organizations have CEO'S that seem to have no clue what is really going on, but at YourCare, Dennis is very approachable and clearly explains how each department works in relation to each other.

Cons

A little less pay than the industry standard, however this is an established company branching out in to a new territory. If they were to pay industry standard, the ratio of failure in the first few years is greater. I'm happy to work for a company who is trying to ensure overall success, not just a good yearly wage.
