Pros

Helping the disabled clients. Free meals if you want to use the food to cook for your shift or yourself. Sometimes I’ll eat a bagel for morning shift.

Cons

Coworkers are hard to get along with. A lot of DSP acts like high schoolers. The full time employee have favorites, so they’ll call per diem favorites of their to cover them and they those people cannot they will call the other per diem. Coworkers that are full time loves to sit in circle and gossip. Lots of work load for little pay.

My specific position is hybrid and pretty flexible. My specific manager is great and always has our back.

Cons

I joined when there is a lot of systemic change happening internally, so things feel disjointed with lots of leadership and org structure changes. It's a huge non-profit so it can be a little politic-y at times.
