Depends on the department

Pros

I loved working in admissions, and found that my coworkers and supervisors were great. So many amazing opportunities to further my educations and travel that I probably wouldn't have been afforded otherwise. Plus, awesome networking.

Cons

Basically no room for growth, and the compensation is nowhere near what should be given for this role (sometimes, I was working 75+ hours a week, but exempt salary didn't give overtime). The "one university" concept is really poor, and the Prescott campus nearly always gets the short end of the stick compared to Daytona Beach. University administration (C-suite and up) is pretty difficult to work with, and our department was almost never recognized for our efforts by upper university. And the accounting department is painful to work with.

Pros

Are there any left as if today?

Cons

President Butler arrived- arrogant and doing townhalls as if he is some sort of rock star- comical ego aside - his leadership has been comical, a legacy of wonderful employment and collegial family into some pathetic, online factory process with extremely low industry pay and micromanagement and the norm. 20 years of talent has left and they have vacancy rates of 30% and rapid turnover. Look elsewhere

Good Place to Start

Pros

Excellent people. Individuals are ready to help you grow and challenge you to be a better person. The people make this place wonderful.

Cons

The overall organization is not interested in the well being of staff or faculty. You are a cog in the wheel and they can replace you with someone that they are going to offer less money to. This is an ok place to be for a bit, but remember, money and the Daytona Beach campus will always take priority over anything.
