Pros

Emerald is an exciting place to work because you have your hands in events that touch virtually every key market -- from audiovisual technology and outdoor lifestyle, to pizza and cannabis, to consumer merchandise and kitchen & bath. Most of these events are marquee names in their respective industries, and it's fun to be associated with brand prestige on that level. It's also a pleasure to travel the country, attending our events and seeing how they synthesize connection. On the Content side, our media brands don't just cover the news but also continue those event conversations throughout the year. I'm fortunate to work with truly passionate people who know their markets on an expert level, build trust-based relationships with key industry players and speak credibly to our audience of decision-makers and influencers. I've never worked in an organization as rich in talent as Emerald is. And Emerald offers the opportunity to grow within its ranks. In the four years I've been with the company, I've seen my responsibilities, compensation and stature rise considerably. It's not the kind of place where you'll be slotted into a position and left to idle. If you prove your mettle, you will grow across all metrics.

Cons

Like many organizations, the company runs lean, which requires associates to adopt new duties in some cases as team sizes are optimized. Sometimes, there is less scaffolding than would be ideal as new duties crop up. If you're reluctant to grab the reins and just take ownership, Emerald may not be the perfect fit. But if you like having the freedom to say, "I'll own this now, and I want to try doing things this way," you'll feel more empowered within Emerald than in most organizations I've worked for. PTO is unlimited for full-time employees, but I find that the company's ambitious goals and aggressive growth sometimes cause associates to take less time off than if they had a specific, numbered allotment of days.

Pros

Minimal 401k Match. Lots of trauma bonding.

Cons

This place runs on vibes and lies from management and HR. It's a dead-end unless you're a sycophant for the CEO. The cult-like Herve worship is beyond cringe.

Expanding business with new opportunities and a bright future. Diversity of event portfolio - many properties, varied industries. Fast moving environment with new acquisitions and event launches. Growth strategies for brands developed by internal staff with pride of ownership. Strong and engaged executive leadership team. Colleagues are professional, dedicated, helpful, resilient, and creative. Customer-focused, results-oriented culture. Success is recognized and celebrated.

Cons

Fast-paced environment and lean staffing can lead to long hours. High expectations to deliver results can be challenging with limited resources.
