Pros

A great work environment at least at my clinic. Everyone is helpful and pulls their weight. Getting to work with a new demo of people. Working on my administrative skills and understanding insurance better. The Providers are usually helpful and have good connections.

Cons

Pay is lower than average for the athletic trainer position. Doing 3 different people's jobs randomly, or new jobs randomly added on. More admin work than actual medical hands on experience. Not really supportive of ATC and forget about them, for instance the leads mentioned an ATC progression plan like a year ago and I have only heard 2 things about it since. Have you coming into work for basic admin work than can easily be done at home. Not really sure how to move up in this position as the management team is a clique.

Was bullied by manager

Pros

Decent salary. Some really great people to work with.

Cons

Took complaint of manager bullying me to HR. This was not the first complaint about this specific manager as many reported in the past. Gaslit me and told me I was the first one to ever complain (not true). I left because it’s 2022 and I am nurse with mad skills. Got a job at the hospital across the street in 3 days

Pros

Great co-workers and staff in other departments, benefits, get to put emory on a resume

Cons

Emory used to be a great place to work in my experiences there. Every department is different however there has been a recent shift in priorities. It’s very obvious in meetings, huddles, reviews, etc. that money is the singular driving factor of any decisions about operations. My department is run like a factory with no regard for employee safety, burn out or accuracy. The best way to describe how disconnected it has become from patient care is this: decisions are being made about patient care and health by people who push financial agendas and budgets with little to no inclusion of actual medicine or science. High turn over, large divide between upper management and the rest of the hospital, low pay in comparison to other hospitals, very slow moving with decision making or changes, constantly short staffed.
