      Not what I expected from a company as large as Emory

      Pros

      Benefits start immediately, started in the Decatur call center registering and scheduling patient appointments, was later promoted to a position in one of the clinical offices on main campus.

      Cons

      Short staffed, overworked and UNDER PAID, training, parking, parking fees, shuttle, feeling a sense of unappreciation, dealing with verbally abusive physicians, STRESSFUL environment, expected to do the work of 2-3 people.

      Emory Healthcare - Non-clinical support

      Pros

      The benefits and company reputation are great. The facilities are acceptable. The best thing about Emory is having the name on your resume when you leave.

      Cons

      Worst company I have ever worked for, and that is saying a lot. Favoritism, bullying, inflexible work hours, overwhelming workloads and a lack of perception in leadership. Pay is well below industry averages and promotions are given to those who throw others under the bus. Have an idea to improve processes? Keep it to yourself or it will be used against you. The technology is archaic. The financial services group have upgraded very well, but integration for other support staff is terrible increasing the workload. Avoid at all costs and don't believe the "best places to work" ratings. Don't plan on a life outside of work as you will have to work weekends to stay afloat. I would never come here for medical services knowing how poorly leadership treats their employees.

      Pros

      With the right manager, Emory Healthcare is an excellent employer. They provide continuing education, great benefits, as well as the opportunity to help the sick in a meaningful way. No matter what position you hold, you are able to contribute to the patient's overall recovery.

      Cons

      Poor management in some areas. High turnover rate suggests that employees are not valued and easily replaced.
