Pros

They offer rather decent health benefits. Additionally, the environment is wonderful, and there is a real rapport amongst coworkers. Employees also get access to the wonderful facilities that the campus has to offer, such as the main library and the gym.

Cons

I have noticed that the employees that work in maintenance and in the food service departments do not seem to receive as much immediate consideration either from students or administration. Applying to work at the University is a long process as HR is very slow-moving.

Pros

Benefits are the best--health insurance, tuition reimbursement, retirement plan Work-life balance is great--they do allow for flexible time to take classes, etc. Company values are in line with giving good care to people--intrinsic values Quality facilities--campus is always being updated/renovated

Cons

Pay--generally lower than most other places for a lateral position Hard to get a raise Interview process is nonexistent and they should implement one to hire more qualified people Difficult to fire underqualified people

Pros

Lots of smart, hardworking people Excellent benefits Excellent values at the institutional level

Cons

Soft-money side enterprise is merciless and mercenary, cares way more about bottom like than scholarship or students. Current lack of Federal funding for science makes soft-money medical research a house of cards. Its collapsing and leadership is oblivious.
