Pros

Medical benefits begin almost immediately!!

Cons

Please be aware that the professors at Emory University can be rude and very insensitive. Working conditions can be horrible if that professor is known for bringing grant money into the University -- they are untouchable and can do no harm in the eyes of the University.

Pros

Work Life balance and flexiblity by management is great. Stability is a plus and the benefits are reasonable. The opportunity to become involved in the general Emory Community is abundent and recommended by management.

Cons

Not much room for advancement in my current role. The salaries could be a little more competitive. Employees should be charge lower parking rates which is a very heated topic among staff and faculty.

Pros

Great retirement and health care plans. Dental plan is the worst plan I've ever had.

Cons

Emory is a very political organization. Hirings and promotions are all done behind closed doors and seem to be based only on an individual's relationship to management and not their qualifications or achievements. Job postings are frequently changed to fit the individual's skills and not the skills required for the job. The vast majority of management does not posess a degree, skills, or experience in the industry/field they are in charge of. Most managers produce nothing, and serve only as a distribution point for work. Information is rarely disseminated to employees, if at all. Employee reviews are a whitewash and have no determination on employee raises. Raises are usually quite small, 3% max, and though are said to be based on performance, have no indication of this. Responsibility is also lacking at Emory. Missing deadlines, wiping out an entire month of email are gone unnoticed and without repercussion.
