Pros

Nice work environment, nice co-workers

Cons

When I left the company they refused to pay for my accumulated PTO. I left under good circumstances since I retired. No reason to treat someone like that with over 20 years in the industry. It is certainly a place where knowing someone gets you places. I applied for a program manager job for training. I had done the exact same work at another company. I had just finished a project to document the entire program and create procedures and forms. They hired someone with little experience that spent all the time at every meeting texting on her phone. My final role with the company started during the pandemic. That made learning it a challenge. I did not have the computer applications I needed for months and training mostly occurred when a task came up. Although I later found out there were written instructions for many tasks this documentation was not used to train me.

Pros

Decent benefits and pay. Pretty good time off benefits and sick time. Flexible work schedule and hybrid/remote work available. Everyone is very professional and willing to help each other reach a goal for the betterment of the company. Many employee/office gatherings/lunches to bring people together even while most work hybrid/remote. Clean and nice facilities at all four offices. The company is rapidly expanding and seeing substantial growth over the next ten years

Cons

It’s a regulated utility. Health care premiums are higher, as well as out-of-pocket maxes. A lot of people are overloaded with work due to the substantial growth. The company has hired a lot of new employees to help with this, but there isn’t very good onboarding training for the company processes. Many processes are in a state of flux and continue to change because of the rapid growth. This can cause confusion for new employees.
