Pros

40 hours a week guaranteed even during cancellation. This is something a lot of ABA companies do not provide. They pay for your certification as an RBT. Opportunities to grow and gain hours as a student. Supportive lower management, Lead RBT and CA. They offer fun events outside of work.

Cons

Gossip often occurs between workers, and there is little support from upper management to fix this. This leads to an improper chain of command when reporting wrongdoing, no supportive advice when situations become escalated, and a lack of support between coworkers. Upper management makes changes that makes it difficult, such as putting supplies in areas that employees can't reach, or putting kids in the clinic without the support staff necessary to provide care to the kids. Staff often do not clean or organize materials, and blame one another for problems that could be fixed if they would work together. Employee retention is a problem because of the lack of pay. 18 dollars an hour for starting employees is not enough given the area each person is living in, and the work employees are asked to do, such as cleaning the clinic, creating their own supplies for reinforcement, and following a schedule when behaviors occur. They partner with Autism Speaks, a notable organization that spreads misinformation about autism, and are ableist towards individuals who aren't neurotypical, by telling them to mask their qualities such as anxiety, depression, and the way you speak despite it being professional, and despite the fact that our jobs are hard. There is no support for those going through these things, and management will often equate this to poor attitude. If there are any cancellations due to poor weather, you will not be paid.
