Pros

The mission statement *sounds* lovely when you're applying and it was extremely fulfilling to help provide resources for families to ensure the children's success when we could. Could've loved working here with families if it wasn't for the cons.

Cons

- Lack of support and knowledge from supervisors. You're either micromanaged or completely left to your own devices depending on who supervises you. Advocates are basically training each other. - No direction or actual training is given besides online modules and you are expected to comply with any changes whether or not they make your job. - Advocates who do nothing but have good relationships with supervisors are allowed to do whatever they want, even when fellow advocates are the ones picking up the slack for them to properly serve families at their center and meet objectives set by leadership. - Being expected to build and maintain relationships with families while being moved from center to center on an almost yearly basis. (Unless you are too difficult to work with, making you more likely to stay at the same center where people already know how you are.) - Company as a whole does not actually care to provide help or services to families and prioritizes having good numbers to report (they'd rather drop certain students than actually provide help). - Hardly any opportunity for advancement unless your supervisor decides they want you to take their spot or you just go look for a better job. - Most people working at HQ have no idea what is going on in each center and they are all run very differently.
