Pros

The benefits, PTO and work sponsored events are great. If you are lucky and work for a fair manager your work/life balance will be wonderful.

Cons

Unfortunately, my manager is unfair and my work/life balance and pay is sad to say the least. I’ve spoken with my manager numerous times regarding this issue and she couldn’t care less. I brought this issue directly to HR, along with the pay disparity and HR’s response was almost as if I was bothering her. My colleague and I have worked at AC for the same amount of time and have the same job title, however she is paid 10k more than me. I am a minority and she is not. My colleagues in other departments with fair management do not have this issue.

Pros

I was part of the DC office campaign management team and spent nine years at the Ad Council. It was a place where I learned, grew, and worked alongside some of the smartest and most supportive people I’ve ever met. The work was meaningful and fast-paced, and the experience gave me so many tools I still use in my career today. Even though I left about four years ago, I still feel connected to the people and the mission. When I was recently laid off from another job, one of my former supervisors at the Ad Council reached out right away. She offered encouragement, made connections for me, and even introduced me to someone at the company where I just landed a new role. That kind of support, years after I left, meant the world to me. The Ad Council is the kind of place where relationships run deep and stick with you. If you're thinking about working there, just know you're not only joining a great organization, you're joining a community that stays in your corner.
