Pros

Relaxed work environment Supportive offshore managers Cab facility available

Cons

Upskilling is difficult; even basic certifications require multiple approvals. Onshore managers are not from your domain, making it hard for freshers to get technical guidance. For IT roles (like Microsoft stack), you’ll often be the sole contributor with limited peer learning. IT is treated as a support function in a manufacturing firm, so growth opportunities are limited. Work is from office; WFH requires manager’s approval and isn’t standard. Variable pay was not paid out last financial year, despite HR assuring otherwise at the time of hiring— always get such promises in writing. Hike process is unclear and lazy; even with good ratings, you won’t get a straight answer on how hike % is decided.

Pros

There are some good people at Alkegen who really want to make a difference. Too bad those individuals aren't in senior leadership.

Cons

Alkegen's biggest con is its senior leadership and how they create a toxic work environment of micro managing their subordinates. I've seen some very toxic behaviors from leadership that I've never seen before in my career. I understand getting the job done, but people do have lives outside of work, and leadership doesn't seem to care at all. After dedicating your entire life to Alkegen, management decides no one gets a bonus next year. Besides that, their benefits were terrible, only offering a high deducible PPO with a small contribution to an HSA. My copay and deductible went through the roof. The unlimited PO is not really unlimited, since you're never allowed to disconnect since you're not afforded a work-life balance.
