Cons
Allina hires management outside meaning the employees are usually under a contract or with a union, the management is not. With that being said I will say I have run into a few great managers/supervisors but overall it’s pretty terrible they love the workplace drama and if you have a concern it gets swept under the mat even if you continually bring it up. Just like coworkers the managers like to have their “clicks” with certain employees who they have favoritism towards, one day you’ll be getting written up for the same thing someone else has been doing for a long time and multiple people will address it but you will be in the office amongst the others who speak up…There is no appreciation towards the hard workers that mind their business do their job plus overtime and go home to do the same thing the next day. The little amounts of appreciation you might get is someone else on the floor thanking you for your help in a email. Everyone has been leaving this place because management, HR and the directors are not doing their part to make sure it is an appropriate work place and doing the disciplinary actions towards the ones who need it and nonetheless do any of them truly even know what the job entails. They like to bend rules and not follow contracts and when that happens most of the stewards actually work with you and love to help but it could cost them their job so they side with the management at times or they are never around to address anything. It is very stressful to work here and the only benefit that seems great is the job security. I have loved my job for the sole fact that I know I’ll never lose it but at the end of the day it’s not worth the stress you go home with and the pay is a slap in the face for the type of work you do.
