Pros

Pay lower than typical industry standards, have seen favoritism , and unfair treatment. Cameras everywhere, supervisors are camera watchers, supervision does not interact with production at times. Assume once you are hired you should know all the job entails, no formal/job specific training, good ol boy network. Sound more like cons. Benefits a little pricey but insurance is adequate, 401 k match and extra coverage available at a cost. Sorry I placed some cons in pros section, not many pros except 401k and insurance. I would rate compensation as 1 star but total package a2

Cons

Altec is proud of the product at my location, as I stated, pay not as good as it should be for skilled trades. Management kind of out of touch with day to day, at times meeting numbers leads to end product quality. Cameras everywhere, supervision should be on floor more for interaction and helping/conveying daily goals. Altec environment is what they say is those strongpoint, it needs work. Tooling and equipment lacking for basic tasks, such as barrel lifts, scaffolding, at points can be unsafe, but work on time constraints, if you take to much time on a task due to safety it is not taken into consideration, some low level mamgement need to hone communication skills. I have only 3 months on the job, have had 5 employers in last 37 years , 18 with one, 9 years with another5 each with others, 2 long term were layoffs, other I left due due to mamgement.

Pros

Company culture is good. Benefits are pretty good. Engineers that work there are all good people. And people outside your department are willing to help out when needed. Company is constantly growing in a market that doesn't have any decline in growth anytime soon, so job security is great.

Cons

Benefits are getting better but still not great. Working in an operations related role can be stressful, but it helps that the team is overall good to work with.
