Credible company but.. - Member Service Representative Apple Federal Credit Union Employee Review

After I had left headquarters to submit my background information, I received a call from the branch manager stating that I must cut my hair to proceed on with the job. I was not aware of this information. I had asked the branch manager about the dress code and she didnt state anything about men must have short hair. I have been growing my hair for 7 years. I had already submitted my notice of resignation to my former job, to find out that I wouldn't be able to continue on with apple because my hair is long. So now I am unemployed and utterly embarrassed because I told my family and friends I would be working for apple FCU. My skills and knowledge is what qualifies me for the job not the length of my hair, and what society's take on what a man's appearance should be. It is 2017, this has to change.
