Pros

The biggest pros for me come down to the Founders. Leadership starts at the top and they were open and candid with me through the hiring process and that same candor has continued after joining the team. They are smart, capable, and care about their employees. Bamboo preaches work/life balance and they mean it. They offer some unique benefits like, starting in 2015 (and after 6 months of employment), you can be reimbursed for up to $2k in vacation expenses. They just want you to bring a picture back to share with Bamboo of your adventures. :-) Working in sales most companies often overstate what you will make their first year. Ben (the CEO) gave me a figure that I could reach during my interview. He said that if I "worked my tail off" I would probably be in a certain range...I am happy to say he actually undersold the potential. I will exceed it by about 1/3 and only see the potential growing.

Cons

Health insurance is new to Bamboo this year and they started with a high deductible health plan. I know they will continue to improve in this area but for the time being we have to use my wife's insurance.

BambooHR is a great place to work with outstanding people.

Cons

BambooHR is focusing heavily on AI, which can come at the expense of jobs.

Pros

At the end of my tenure, I really have no pros.

Cons

I'm pretty sure I was "quietly laid off", in the effort of sneaky downsizing without having to actually do formal layoffs. This place was a godsend and a great place to work on my small independent team, and I did great. Then they did massive restructuring, added layers of hierarchy, added process, and basically just starting running a creative team like a line of factory workers. I had a horrible time with my manager on so many different levels, and felt validation when others would reflect the same, but I reflect what everyone else says - narcissistic, micro managing leadership that I now understand play manipulation games. I was put on a performance improvement plan and finally quit due to burnout, stress, and the dissolution of a role and a team that I had from before. They constantly push for solutions and deliverables, but I never really saw anything I delivered actually get treated and implemented with respect. Company policies and siloed team policies and procedures stymie actual effectiveness, and it seems like the leadership acts as your strict grade school teacher rather than having your back.
