Pros
I have worked at several tech companies in the UT Valley area and if BambooHR continues to operate like this I never want to leave. My manager is incredible. Not micromanaged at all. I basically choose my own schedule (as much as you can in Sales) as long as I hit my KPIs and quota consistently. I was hired directly on as a Senior Account Executive so I may have a different experience than those that worked their way up from SDR (which is a huge priority for Bamboo to promote from within and I think is amazing. I feel like much of the tech industry is spoiled and people take for granted that many tech companies have horrible code, constant bugs, toxic leadership, and no room for growth. I came from a company like this so BambooHR has been a breath of fresh air. In the 2 years I've been here my base has gone up $11k per year and my commission earnings has continued to grow as well. There have been some pretty big comp changes in these years and every time they announce a new compensation model it benefits you if you perform well and expectations are very clear. Reps that aren't as skilled or don't have a solid work ethic have a hard time with the demotion criteria and changes. But I've been thrilled with how Bamboo has grown. Quotas are in reach, but you do have to work hard to hit them. I've had over 90% goal attainment the last 2 years.
Cons
I think with any sales job your worth is pretty much ruled by your performance. I also feel like there have been some situations where a bit more communication from leadership would have been nice. But those are exceptions to the rule. In most everything else communication has been amazing. Just a few instances that could have been better. I think the biggest con with BambooHR in sales is that your quota isn't adjusted when you take time off. They give plenty of time off, but I know that if I take a full week off I'm likely not going to hit quota that month and I don't get any quota forgiveness unless there is some sort of emergency. So it's always stressful to unplug for too long.
