Pros

The people are easy to get along with. Rewards are given to company employees. We can decorate for holidays. Easy to come in to work, some people dred going to work because of various reasons but it is easy to show up every day.

Cons

There's not enough parking spaces to accomodate all the employees on a full staff. They end up asking us to move our cars if we're not parked in a valid parking space, and the only other spaces available are on the other side of the building. This is hard to deal with if it's snowing or raining. There is no cieling other than the roof(which is tin) and when it's raining or hailing it's almost too loud to hear the customers. There is not a weatherized smoking area. The dress code is a little too strict for a casual working area. A man is not allowed to wear shorts because they want him to go home and change while a girl is wearing a tank top and flip flops. Even though all of the above are against dress code it should be enforced equally. The stress load can get a little overwhelming around Christmas. I have found myself wishing I could have a vacation to go see my family as they are out of town but I can't as I usually workt he day before and after christmas. Employee Club-O does not give us enough of a discount to be inclined to order from our own website. The 5% discount isn't enough to even cover taxes most times so it's almost like there's no percentage off at all. Free shipping is always good though.

Pros

Fast paced environment with LOTS of hands-on experience with many different tools. The people are the reason to stay, lots of smart and caring people, managers, and leaders towards the bottom of the food chain.

Cons

Upper Management has completely destroyed this company and gutted it. In my several years at the company, communication is as poor as it could be. Bonuses are promised and then not followed up on. RIFs happen far too frequently. It is abundantly clear that this company does NOT care about it's employees, and at the moment is almost seems like they are trying as hard as they can to get people to quit so they don't have to pay severances before acquiring more companies and moving headquarters to Texas. The culture in the days of Overstock was incredible, it made people excited about being able to work there. Now people are hanging on by threads, large teams are now carried on the backs of just 1-2 people without additional pay as we see co-workers get laid off left and right. It is not sustainable. Important things are being missed because there are not enough people to do the work, which will end up biting the company in the butt for compliance and finance reasons.
