Pros

The only Pros left at this place are the professionals below the exec/c-suite level. I've learned so much outside my discipline in design from others willing to help teach and bring everyone with them. I've made friends who I can say actually care about me. The people left at this company are the best thing left. Other than that, every other Friday off is nice but not a deal breaker for me. The "culture" is gone, and the only pro you'll get from working here is that you'll have friends to complain with about the ridiculous leadership that exists here.

Cons

Biggest con is leadership and the exec team. New leadership took over in 2023, hasn't ever been the same. Lots of layoffs since. Most individual contributors were already responsible for much more than their job description, and they just keep piling more responsibility to people who are overworked. They keep preaching how employee satisfaction is important, but after 3 terrible employee satisfaction scores, they have yet to address any issues that have come from those and keep kicking the can down the road. The Exec team attempted to address it in a company-wide meeting, and it ended up being 1 hour of the Chairman of the board belittling employees for asking questions after he asked the entire company for questions. Exec team keeps pushing projects that they expect to be done within months time with no strategy and no feedback. Months after those projects are delivered, they realize we overlooked a ton of things in the effort(things that were raised and ignored prior to starting) and perform layoffs as a result of them not being able to deliver financial results to the board. This used to be a great place to work, but I would not recommend anyone work under this leadership. I was optimistic when they took over in '23, but I've seen enough to make up my mind now... this company doesn't seem it will be sustainable under this leadership. They are investing in acquisitions that cost 10s of millions of dollars, and have begun outsourcing their operations instead of building internal. Perhaps some see that as a good financial decision, but go and read our customer reviews on any review aggregate and you won't find a rating above 3.5 out of 5. They have terrible reviews on consumer reports, trustpilot, reddit, consumer affairs, google, consumer affairs and just about any other customer review site. This company stopped caring about their customers when the new leadership came in. So outsourcing has only equaled worse financial results and customer reviews. Leadership straight up told us this year, there would be NO Bonuses and NO advancement this year, and also told us we had to work harder. The financial results this year are worse than last year, so I wouldn't be hopeful that Bonuses and advancement opportunities are gonna be an option for 2025. I can't say this enough, if you have a choice, please find somewhere else to work for your own quality of life.

Pros

Fast paced environment with LOTS of hands-on experience with many different tools. The people are the reason to stay, lots of smart and caring people, managers, and leaders towards the bottom of the food chain.

Cons

Upper Management has completely destroyed this company and gutted it. In my several years at the company, communication is as poor as it could be. Bonuses are promised and then not followed up on. RIFs happen far too frequently. It is abundantly clear that this company does NOT care about it's employees, and at the moment is almost seems like they are trying as hard as they can to get people to quit so they don't have to pay severances before acquiring more companies and moving headquarters to Texas. The culture in the days of Overstock was incredible, it made people excited about being able to work there. Now people are hanging on by threads, large teams are now carried on the backs of just 1-2 people without additional pay as we see co-workers get laid off left and right. It is not sustainable. Important things are being missed because there are not enough people to do the work, which will end up biting the company in the butt for compliance and finance reasons.
