Pros

I feel that I am truly part of something great here at booj. I get to work at a place where I am part of the "we" and can make a positive impact. I feel that my voice is heard and that I can create change, and have the freedom to share feedback at any level. The leadership takes the time with new hires and strives to keep the culture of the company consistent. They truly care about their employees and they take the time to understand what our strengths and weaknesses are. They have a strong direction, clear vision for the future, and are always actively making a good thing even better, which makes me feel secure about my position here. This is a place where you can work with smart people. People that are either starting their career, or that have been here for years, and have created a solid career at booj. I have seen people that I started with, develop into larger roles, and become an integral part of the "we". We play hard together, with happy hours, booj sponsored events, and it works to solidify us as a team. I feel this is a place where I can be myself and also learn concrete skills. Everyday is different, and we are doing new and innovative things that can be challenging. I feel that booj is the place where I can count on the people around me, to help or support me through. If you are looking for a place to feel like you belong and to learn from some seriously awesome folks, this is it.

Cons

The building isn't close to a ton of lunch spots, but they give the option to have food brought in daily. The commute on Colorado blvd. during the busy times can be tough at times, but you can work around it!

Pros

Booj is a really fun place to work. You can bring your dog if you have one. There are a lot of good, friendly, active people that work there. You can do whatever you want. This is good and bad. Sometimes it's good, but it can also be irritating to work with people who are stoned all day, including managers. Fun games such as table tennis, pool, foosball etc. Good place to work if you are just out of college and have few expenses, or if you are a marijuana enthusiast.

Cons

They seem to get rid of some good people, but will gladly keep others who are incompetent. There isn't much of an organizational structure, though there's a lot of talk about reorganization often (this can be good and bad). While there are some really great people, management seem oblivious to certain things, like the extremely low pay. They talk very proudly of the awards that they've won, they seem to think that it's a privilege to work at Booj, but they show a lot of favoritism and don't seem to mind that they pay far below market average. The biggest problem is definitely salary. A game room does not pay the bills. The company could hire much more qualified people, and improve the products drastically, if they were willing to pay an average salary (28k per year for a Project Manager is simply embarrassing). Managers are just those who have been there a long time (whether qualified or not).

As a young, growing company, we indeed struggle to pay the kind of wages that the Googles, Facebooks and other large technology companies are able to pay and who often set the industry average. There are no hidden facts; the wage and the first year's increments are agreed before any applicant accepts the job. All employees are encouraged to carve their own career path, and those who take initiative are often promoted. We often hire for junior positions and cultivate successful individuals to higher roles with more responsibility and higher pay. ` We continue to invest in our company culture and internal processes in order to provide an environment that our employees take pride in and want to be a part of. I hope you find something that fulfills your requirements better and I am sorry that we were not the ideal fit.
