Not a career - General Laborer Braen Stone Employee Review

Thank you for posting a review of Braen Stone - we appreciate your feedback but would also like to address some of your comments. First, we are glad you note our benefits and Christmas Party as positive items. We make a strong effort to provide excellent benefits....and the Christmas Party is one of our favorite "perks." There are other "perks" and benefits we provide that you fail to mention....perhaps the biggest is our Wellness Program, in addition to our Employee/Family Picnic, Christmas Gifts, etc. In fact, if you've worked here for 8 years, you received a 3/4 pullover this year and your choice of a Patagonia or Columbia winter coat last year. We are sorry to hear that you've encountered issues with your manager. However, you are always encouraged to bring that feedback to HR. We cannot improve manager performance without honest feedback. That said, we are actually in the process of providing all Braen Stone managers with comprehensive management training. We recognize that there is always room for improvement. Yes, during our busy season - there is a hectic pace which can be stressful at times. Yet, as you noted, because of the seasonality of our business - - the "winter" is slow and not nearly as busy. That provides everyone with a chance to regroup. Lastly, as far as advancement is concerned, perhaps you are not aware of the many employees who have moved-up and, in some cases, even become managers. If so, that means we need to do a better job communicating - because we are very proud that so many have advanced. Should you be interested in advancing, I would suggest you keep an eye on our open positions, which are posted both online (Glassdoor and our website) and at each location. Further, I would also encourage you to discuss your career opportunities with your supervisor. It is possible that as a general laborer you do not yet have the skills needed to perform another position here.....but we are willing to train those who are highly motivated to advance. Again, thanks for your feedback. We cannot improve without it!
