Pros
There were good benefits such as free lunch and payroll giving donation matching. I think the committees were really good too. Tech management were caring. They did their best to create a fair and enjoyable work environment. I felt listened to from the head of team down to more junior managers and their actions actively showed that they care about the team and the direction it is going in. There were lots of learning opportunities and encouragement of learning, although there is a ceiling you hit after a few years. It did seem like management were trying to address this though.
Cons
Tech was not valued by the company, despite being one of it’s main USP’s. Investing in the team would allow for more innovation and additional revenue for the company. It was great to work with smart people who care about the work they are producing. It felt like due to there not being a direct revenue stream coming from the team that there was no value as not directly lining senior management and investors pockets. False attempts were made to say this wasn’t true, but it is only words. Actions made it very clear that the team was not valuable to them.
