Pros

The place to learn about SEO and PPC. They start challenging you from the beginning, giving you plenty of space and time to learn new things. You’ll notice right away that your work is trusted, allowing you to see how clients implement it and think of it.

Cons

Compensation: From conversations with colleagues, and employees at other agencies, Brainlabs pays significantly lower than most. Acquisition: After they acquired Distilled, Brainlabs reduced and downgraded the Distilled employees benefits package. Leadership: What once felt like leadership in each individual office could make rules that impact their own office, after the acquisition, that was no longer the case. The changes they want to make in each office now has to be approved by more people in leadership, making it harder to stay autonomous. Career Growth: You get to learn really fast, but there’s not a lot of opportunities to move up and receive promotions. A lot of that is dependent on company need and not necessarily your skills or experience.

Thank you for providing your feedback, but I am sorry to hear that your experience was not as positive as we would have hoped. You are right that over the last year + that there has been quite a bit of change in our organization since we merged with Brainlabs and built our new US Operations. Between the merge and the state of the world, we acknowledge that we experienced growing pains with this and have continued to evolve what we do. Throughout it all, we continue to collect regular feedback from our entire team both in-person and anonymously so we can make Brainlabs and even better place to work! This includes regularly evaluating compensation, benefits, and opportunities for promotion. We now review promotional opportunities every single month!

Pros

You have a CEO who wears a fun hat, so that means he's down with the young folks, I guess.

Cons

It's literally no different than all the other corporate agencies. You won't sleep, you won't eat, and you'll get thrown under the bus. You'll be graded not on your performance, but on how well you follow mundane processes that do literally nothing to produce quality work. Management is obsessed with adding new documents or micromanaging policies for everything they can. Just because employees aren't being yelled at doesn't mean the environment isn't toxic. You will not have a life here, They will not set you up for success.
