Current elected Sheriff is bar-none one of the best I have ever worked around. The department as a whole conducts itslef with a "people-first" mindset and always shows respect to witnesses, victims and suspects alike.

Cons

As always with law enforcement in Western North Carolina; the pay is below average for the area and most deputies have to work around 20-30 additional hours of "extra-duty" or "off-duty" work to make ends meet; especially if you have a family.
