Pros

The people. My gosh the people at this organization are talented. You'd be hard pressed not to find some of the most brilliant people within their respective fields in almost every division. Even better, they're (mostly) good & fun loving people, which makes work a heck of a lot more enjoyable! The culture & passion. Carvana is a company founded on the idea that people should be treated better, and that focus isn't limited to just external customers. The company really fosters an environment that's exciting and engaging, and cares deeply about employees. Unite that with a product/service that most people can truly rally behind and be excited about, and you have a great recipe for a solid place to want to spend 40+ hours a week. The opportunity. Aside from the talent you'll be working alongside (and inevitably learning from), there is also a TON of opportunity to grow at Carvana. This is a company that's allowed countless people to pursue paths they never thought possible elsewhere, and is also still in a stage of high growth which allows for additional opportunities for upward mobility. And lastly (just for good measure) the perks. The ping pong tables, pickle-ball court, wild pants & waffles Wednesdays, company sponsored happy hours, cold brew on tap, free snacks & often free catered lunches/food trucks, excellent benefits package, etc.

Cons

Look, every company has their "flaws" and areas that employees may feel they're falling short. The company grew nearly 300% in a single year, and then IPOed soon after, there are pain points to that for employees and that stinks sometimes. However, I will say that this company is still heavily committed to the same things that made it great to begin with, and these pain points will likely be alleviated to a certain degree in time. It also should be noted that while cons exist, the pros far outweigh them.

Pros

Not many that I can think of other than being outside in the summer and independent.

Cons

You will work 12 hour days usually starting at 4:30am and you only get paid for miles. Once you leave the yard you start making money, but it takes 2 hours to load cars in the morning and 1 hour to unload unless you are running. Carvana states that you get extra miles for loading and unloading but the extra miles at .60 per mile only work out to about 10.00 per hour. Basically minimum wage for 3 hours a day. You'll have to work through the winter outside when its -40 with wind blowing and 20 semis in the ditch on your route from black ice so keep that in mind. Management only cares about you leaving on-time and thats about it..a deaf ear to any other constructive thoughts. Cameras watching every move and you get dinged all the time which will effect your quarterly "safety" bonus.
