Pros
not stuck in an office all day.
Cons
I wanted to love this job and make it a career but I am so disappointed in this company. I am not a negative person but I hope this will help some people avoid making the terrible decision of working at this company. I love sales and have been successful in my past positions. But this company will suck the life out of you and I have no idea how most people survive as i was making more than 95% of the rest of the sales staff. They use fear and threats as motivation and provide no positive incentives. The one time they did offer a reward they never followed through with it. Please don't be fooled by them pretending to care (remember they are in sales as well), you are just a number and they will have no qualms about using you and taking accounts as they see fit. You are required to an insane amount of meaningless reports just to appease corporate that will take hours from your week, on top of over 2 hours of pointless meetings and literally over 5 hours of call sessions. When you add that up you spend more than half your week in the office instead of meeting with clients. REMEMBER you are 100% commission and time is money. There is no subsidy for gas, mileage, wear & tear on your car, phone... nothing! You are required to take clients out and bring them lunches/coffees and again, it all comes out of your own pocket. The "training" is minimal (I feel terrible for all the recent grads that have no past experience and will struggle for a year minimum just trying to learn basic sales skills, product information and pretty much anything you would need to know to be successful) and then they require the senior representatives to help the new people at every turn (no compensation or incentive & remember, 100% commission!). And the newbies always outnumber the experienced sellers because the turnover rate is unlike anything i have ever seen but it's no surprise. Benefits leave a lot to be desired. Overall the office atmosphere is negative and even the managers are constantly stressed and take it out on the sales team. I am an extremely positive person and drank the juice - i wanted to make it work! But I am so extremely disappointed in this company. Also, there will be a lot they will promise you when they hire you and throughout your employment but you will quickly learn it is all talk. ALSO there is a very strict non compete contract when you are hired that will not let you work in any kind of advertising within a 50 mile radius for a year after you leave so unless you plan on completely changing careers or moving you are literally trapped... and that is the point I am at. Please consider this review as it is not exaggerated and completely true- I wish it wasn't...
