Pros
Working with clients in social work field. Coworkers were great! They offered paid training for 2-3weeks. Tuition reimbursement and further training. Massages at work.
Cons
Insurance was terribly high, unable to afford it with high premium ($300-500/month with high deductable). I thought with a big organization they would do better in getting better benefits. I was also in a union as well. HR is huge and just feel like a number. I and my coworker were there for 5 years barely a raise or able to move around. I was working 3rd shift and over 60 hours a week and needed a 1st or 2nd shift job because my health was declining. I called in because of my health and they looked down on me about that. I applied for other positions. They opened a new crisis center and gave the jobs to others. I tried to apply for other jobs and one coworker told me they don't like giving positions to other people who work 3rd shift because it's hard to replace someone and he had applied to other positions for a long time and never able to move. Also I was shock how low my pay was compared to my coworker. I was making $9.00-9.50, only .10 raise every 6months. My coworker started out $11.00 and was making $14.00. I told HR how my director has favoritism over others and my coworker got paid $2 more than me. They said it's all about budgeting and what the director. I talk to him about it and applying for other jobs. He was too busy to really talk to and he make lighthearted jokes about I felt he didn't really care. He would tell he forgot to send in my application for the position and they would be gone within a few days or a week. He had other positions and gave position to prior coworker to start a new crisis center but never offered the jobs or let me know they were hiring. He expected me to work 3rd shift and train others at the other place. I felt used, so got another job and left a weeks notice. I felt they didn't care about their employees and I was fed up!
