Pros

It's just a job, that's it. I have job security right now.

Cons

People in glass door that says Chevron is a great place to work, I can guarantee they're salary. If you're hourly here, you're just an expendable peon to management. They promised large raises ans bonuses when I started because I took a large pay cut. That was a lie. Their bonuses aren't great and this year we got a 0.9% raise. Are you kidding me. That's not even cost of of living yet they profited billions. Mechanics are the lowest paid trade here. Not only that, theyre the lowest paying company ive seen in West Texas. No per diem, no travel pay. As low as they pay, they should pay a travel stipend. I've never worked for an oilfield company where the highly skilled mechanics are treated like trash. Management rarely will back you mainly because they have no idea what's going in the field so they have no leg to stand on so they're just yes men to operations.

Pros

Working with an amazing team who cares about your work-life balance and gives flexibility if emergencies arise. The pay is also very good.

Cons

The commute to the office is very difficult and having to come into work 4 days a week. Also, you have to pay for parking and there are no vouchers. They also have layoffs and downsizing on a regular basis so it is very nerve wrecking.
