Pros

Battery Systems is a great company to work for. The company has a very family oriented mentality and wants to make sure that each employee has a good work/life balance. As an employee you are viewed as a team member, not just a number. The company is concerned with the safety and success of each employee. The first objective for all levels of management within Battery Systems is to "take care of your people."

Cons

Some travel may be required, but no much. In addition, the path for further career advancement within the company is not super clear. There are opportunities within the company, as it continues to grow each year, but the communication on what opportunities are available and how to capture them is somewhat lacking.

I like your suggestions! Thank you for taking the time. Yes, clarity around opportunity and continuous communication with the team is important. As a branch manager you know that knowing where each member of your team stands with you, with each other, with their customers, and in general life satisfaction is your duty to maintain. The pros that you list are conjoined with the advice as well. Life balance investment comes with communication. Perhaps this can improve with our management teams as well. Give me a call on this and we can talk about means to manage this right. Regarding growth, we are just big enough to have terrific opportunities come up, but small enough to not see these consistently presented. That does make for more crystal ball rubbing regarding future openings vs. known growth tracks for upper management positions. Still, I have seen many occasions where positions opened up, even significant moves to other states, for people that were bold to have a plan and ask for support. Pros

Strict no overtime policy resulted in consistent work schedules and work life balance. Gained valuable skills and maintained inventory accuracy with the WMS. Developed strong attention to detail due to the high accuracy needed for the job.

Cons

Denied combined cost of living and performance increase based on a single day of lateness, resulting in a corrective action report. Company handbook specifies that any corrective action prevents receiving either increase. Disconnected corporate structure and poor communication from main office. Branch mostly left unsupervised but held to unclear standards without training. High turnover due to management unwilling to pay living wage, causing difficulty hiring and retaining staff, especially in higher cost areas. Company focus on short-term 'resilience training' shifts the burden of burnout to employees, rather than addressing systemic issues like unlivable wages and profit-driven management practices.
